  From Colombo on the West Coast you may travel to the salubrious hill country through breathtaking scenery in 3   to 5 hours. Each turns unfolding a different visual tapestry.
  It is no only the scenery which would captivate you, Sri Lanka’s ancient cities with stupendous monuments,   sculpture, cravings and huge man-made lakes; landscaped gardens… have taken pride of place among the   treasures of the ancient world. Seven of these sites are listed in UNESCO’s World heritage Sites. A grand list of   fauna and flora, gamines yielding precious and semi precious gems, including the spectacular blue sapphire. And   above all, smiling, simple, hospitable people are a delight to any visitor to our shores.

  • A- Colombo city

You may visit Kelaniya Temple (one of the 3 places in Sri Lanka visited by Loard Buddha- beautiful ceiling paintings)
Gotami Temple ( modern mural paintings)
Wolvendhal Church (1757) National Museum.
You may opt to spend the day at Mt.Lavinia Beach if you are a beach addict.

  • B- Colombo Kandy

Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhala Kings, today the most beautiful city in the Island.

Dalada Maligawa  - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the load Buddhaand many temples with beautiful paintings and wood carvings, Royal Botanical Gardens & University at Peradeniya, Hydro-Power Reservoirs, Uduwattekele Reserve, Cultural Shows ( Kandyan Dancing) Shopping ( handicrafts, batiks, gem & jewellery) Visit elephant orphanage and tea factory enroute.

Colombo- Ratnapura – The “Gem City “ of Sri Lanka, Gem pits (mining) gem workshops (gem cutting , polishing, jewellery making),Bopath Ella waterfall, enroute visit rubber estate & factory. A beautiful dirve from Colombo through typical Sri Lankan villages.

Colombo - Galle – Drive along the beautiful coastline down south to Galle (fortress built by the Dutch, shop for exquisite hand – made lace) enroute many beach hotels for a break at Kalutara, Beruwala, Bentota(popular for water sports) Hikkaduwa ( famous for corals & tropical fish) Ambalangoda (Masks & Batiks)

Early morning, proceed to Nuwara Eliya through Ramboda Pass- Beautiful scenery of the hill country – Tea estates Ramboda waterfall (329 ft) N’Eliya, 6182 ft above sea level, is a replica of an old English village with cottage & Victorian type buildings. Pidurutalagala (8281 ft.) highest peak in Sri Lanka. Hakgala Botanical Gardens- Back to Colombo through Ginigathhena. May stop for lunch at Kitulgala Rest House. Kitulgala was the location for the famous film “Bridge on the River Kawai.”

Kandy - Anuradhapura - Sigiriya

Day – 1
Early Morning leave for Anuradhapura. The monuments date back to (3rd c.BC-8th c.A.D). Sri Maha Bodhi the oldest historically documented tree in the world is found here. Proceed to Habarana. Overnight at Habarana.
Day -2
Morning drive back to Colombo via Kandy visiting Sigiriya Rock Fortress enroute. Proceed to Colombo. If time permits visit Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela.

Gem City – Uda Walawe National Park- Sinharaja Forest

Day -1
Early Morning leave for Ratnapura (Gem City) see gem mines and a museum Proceed to Udawalawe National Park, visiting the Sinharaja Rain Forest entoute. Overnight at Uda Walawe.
Day – 2
In Uda Walawe. Enjoy wild life and return to Colombo via the South Coast.

Day -1
Morning leave for Galle visiting Hikkaduwa. Relax on the beach. Evening proceed to Galle. Dinner & Night at Galle.
Day -2
Morning leave for Tissamaharama. Gateway to Yala National Park.
Afternoon tour of the Park. Dinner & Night at Tissamaharama/ Yala.
Day -3
Morning leave for Ratnapura. Through cross country. Visit Gem mines and Gem Museums. Evening return to Colombo.
